Our Doctrine
At Truth Tabernacle Pomona, we are unwavering in our commitment to the Apostolic doctrine as outlined in the Bible. Our belief is rooted in the revelation of One God, fully expressed in the person of Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:9). We reject any form of polytheism or division in the Godhead, holding firmly to the scriptural teaching that "in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily" (Colossians 2:9). Jesus Christ is not only the Son of God but the manifestation of God Himself in the flesh, reconciling the world to Himself (2 Corinthians 5:19).
Salvation According to Acts 2:38
We believe that the plan of salvation is clearly revealed in Acts 2:38: repentance, water baptism in Jesus' name for the remission of sins, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost, evidenced by speaking in other tongues. This is not just an optional tradition, but a biblical mandate that continues to be essential for the New Testament Church today.
- Repentance: A turning away from sin, acknowledging our need for God's forgiveness, and surrendering to His will. True repentance is more than just regret; it is a complete change of heart and mind, aligning ourselves with God's purpose (Luke 13:3, Acts 3:19).
- Baptism in Jesus’ Name: We baptize exclusively in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, following the apostolic pattern found throughout the New Testament (Acts 2:38, Acts 8:16, Acts 10:48). We believe that the invocation of Jesus' name in baptism is not just symbolic, but necessary for salvation, washing away sins and initiating us into the body of Christ (Galatians 3:27).
- The Infilling of the Holy Ghost: As evidenced by speaking in other tongues, the infilling of the Holy Ghost is the empowering presence of God dwelling within the believer (Acts 2:4, Acts 10:46, Acts 19:6). This experience is essential for living a victorious Christian life, enabling us to walk in the Spirit and fulfill God's purpose for our lives.
Holiness as a Way of Life
We embrace old-fashioned holiness, not as a relic of the past, but as a necessary standard for living a life pleasing to God. Holiness encompasses every area of our lives, from our outward appearance to our inward attitudes. As the Apostle Peter exhorted, "Be ye holy, for I am holy" (1 Peter 1:16). We believe that separation from the world and consecration unto God are marks of true discipleship (2 Corinthians 6:17). Our lifestyle, speech, and conduct reflect the transformative work of the Holy Ghost within us, distinguishing us as God’s people.
The Apostolic Mission
At Truth Tabernacle Pomona, we are not only committed to personal holiness and doctrinal purity but also to fulfilling the Great Commission. As the Apostles carried the Gospel to the farthest reaches of their world, so we strive to spread this message of hope, healing, and salvation to our community and beyond. Our mission is clear: to see souls born into the Kingdom of God through the preaching of Jesus' name, the power of the Holy Ghost, and the life-changing message of repentance and baptism.
